What is the difference between HSI and the American Red Cross?

  • Health & Safety Institute (HSI) and the American Red Cross both provide nationally recognized CPR, AED, First Aid, and BLS certifications.

  • The core skills and certification validity are comparable. OSHA does not require a specific training provider and accepts CPR/First Aid training from nationally recognized organizations. Acceptance ultimately depends on the employer, licensing board, regulatory agency, or insurance provider, not the training organization.

  • REVIVE offers HSI-certified courses with flexible blended learning and digital certification.

  • The client and/or participant is responsible for confirming that this course meets all applicable requirements, including but not limited to employer policies, OSHA standards, state or federal regulations, medical or licensing boards, and insurance requirements.

    • If your employer has specific requirements, please confirm them before booking.

  • If you are unsure, contact us, and we can help determine whether an HSI certification meets your needs

What is blended learning?

  • Blended learning combines:

    • An online learning module completed before class, and

    • In-person, instructor-led hands-on skills training and evaluation

  • This format allows for more efficient in-person sessions while maintaining high training standards.

    • Training materials

  • There are no additional certification fees.

Do you provide physical (printed) certification cards?

  • Certifications are issued digitally by default, which is the industry standard and accepted by employers.

  • Printed cards may be available upon request for an additional fee.

What is the difference between CPR and BLS?

  • CPR AED + First Aid is designed for the general public and workplaces.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) is intended for healthcare and healthcare-adjacent professionals and includes team-based response and advanced airway considerations.

  • If you are unsure which course you need, contact us and we’ll help you choose.

Does the Community CPR & AED Workshop provide certification?
